NEW JERUSALEM FOOD BANK

 

New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church is the home of the

Community Food Bank for the Hellertown Area Ministerium (HAM). 

Volunteers are always welcome to assist with

unloading the truck, packing food, and its distribution.

 

Food Bank distribution is held on the

3rd and 4th Saturday of each month

from 9:00-11:00 a.m. 

 

Food Bank Delivery on

Friday, TBA at 9:00 a.m.

 

Helping hands are needed to pack bags on

Monday, February 13th and 20th

from 6:00–7:00 p.m.

 

The Food Bank serves residents of the Saucon Valley School District and members of the congregations that support the work of the Food Bank.

 

  • The Food Bank serves an average of 100 families a month or 400 people.  Along with a 3-day supply of food, there are household goods and clothing available.  Gift cards for Giant are given at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  Christmas gifts for the children of our food bank clients are provided.

 

  • The Food Bank is supported with food, monetary donations, and volunteer time from HAM congregations as well as community groups and individuals.

 Due to growing conditions and economic times, Second Harvest,

who supplies us with most of the food for our Food Bank is running low,
so we need your help to keep our pantry stocked.
 
Please pick up an extra items such as peanut butter, jelly,
macaroni and cheese, canned vegetables, cereal, oatmeal, crackers,
canned soups, canned fruits, pasta, rice, instant potatoes, gravy,
boxed cakes, boxed brownies, boxed jello, boxed pudding, cooking oil, etc. for the Food Bank when you shop!
Brown bags are also needed.
 
You can place your donations in the baskets in the Narthex or
drop them off at the church office Monday through Friday
between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
